####
The Canon CRW thumbnail File (THM file)
Of special importance are the additional THM files created by most cameras supporting CRW files. These thumbnail files contain a small 160 x 120 preview of the original image in the associated CRW file, plus the EXIF information and optionally IPTC information. The THM files always have the same name as the original CRW file, but with a .THM file extension (suffix).
For more information about EXIF and IPTC, see these links:
The EXIF Standard Organization
The IPTC Standard Organization
It's always a good idea to keep .THM and .CRW files together when you work with your images. Most of the information contained in the THM file is not contained in the CRW file, and if it is, most applications are unaware of this, or cannot access this information in the .CRW file.
When you move, copy or rename your CRW files, or when you burn them to CD-ROM for long term archiving, always keep the THM files with the associated CRW files. This makes sure that you always have access to all the EXIF and IPTC information associated with your raw CRW files.
IMatch is fully CRW enabled. This means that IMatch knows about the association between CRW and THM files. When you move, copy or rename a CRW file in IMatch, and there is a matching THM file (same file name as the CRW, but with the THM extension), IMatch automatically moves, copies or renames the THM file too.
IMatch automatically detects THM files, and displays the IPTC and EXIF information contained in these files in the IMatch user interface. As long as you use IMatch, you can use the built-in EXIF and IPTC editor in the same way as for other file formats that embed EXIF and IPTC information into the original image. IMatch treats THM files transparently, making sure that the original CRW and the accompanying THM files always stay together.
IMatch also transparently supports EXIF and IPTC information contained in THM files in all import and export modules, the image variables, contact sheet builder, batch processor and even from within the scripting language.

Re: 10D RAW Files...
